No one knows where the tradition started... but for years now, lovers on holiday have been marking their commitment to each other by leaving padlocks chained to bridges in some of the world's most romantic cities. And Paris, the city of love, is no different... in fact it's so popular in the French capital, it was rumoured local authorities were having to remove thousands of the “love locks” to prevent damage to the bridges.
