This 2C Gallo-Roman amphitheatre, destroyed by the Barbarians in AD 280, was only discovered when rue Monge was created in 1869; excavation and restoration of the monument was completed in 1910. Part of the stone tiers, the stage and the layout of the dressing rooms are still visible. Nowadays, boules competitions and drama performances are staged here.
