Church of St-Roch Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The first stone of this church was placed by Louis XIV in 1653. Jules Hardouin-Mansart and subsequently Robert de Cotte worked on the building where Pierre Corneille, Le Nôtre and Diderot are buried. This church gives those interested in town planning an idea of the amplitude of the transformations that Haussmann's work led to: to enter the building you have to go up 13 steps, when originally you had to descend 7! By tradition, St-Roch is the church where artists' funerals are held.
