The current building replaces a chapel built in a field planted with thistles (chardons). On the exterior, the side door (rue des Bernardins) has been sculpted using designs by Le Brun, who was a parishioner here. The interior, built in the Jesuit style, is decorated with paintings by Restout, Coypel, Corot and Charles Le Brun, whose funerary monument, by Coysevox, stands in a chapel in the ambulatory.
