The navy museum retraces the history of the French Navy from the 17C. Its collection includes around 350 models (some very large in scale) of boats from the 18C and 19C; a collection of naval sculptures, including figureheads; decorative features, ceremonial boats, instruments and numerous paintings. Don’t miss Le Louis Quinze, a large vessel from the late 17C, Le Royal Louis, Napoleon I’s ceremonial boat, with its sculpted decor, and the showcases dedicated to the great maritime explorers.
