The École d’Administration now occupies the premises of the first Faculty of Medicine established here in the 15C. Created in 1206, the Impasse Maubert was home to the poisons laboratory of the infamous Marquise de Brinvilliers. The square, at the crossroads of the rue de la Bûcherie, rue des Grands Degrés and rue Frédéric-Sauton, is in a charming and picturesque setting, with old houses, restaurant terraces, an old butcher’s shop converted into an art gallery, and small bookshops.
