A symbol of Nazi madness, this former V2 rocket launch pad has been turned into a Centre devoted to the history of war and rockets. The tour starts in a railway tunnel and continues along underground galleries intended to store rockets, leading into a huge dome weighing 55 000t. Two exhibitions present German secret weapons and the life of the local population in northern France from 1940 to 1944. On display are a V1 flying bomb and a genuine V2 rocket.
