Here, the main person is certainly J.-B. Carpeaux, his work being exhibited in a large section of the museum. However the Flemish, represented by the enigmatic Jerôme Bosch, Jordaens, Pourbus and Rubens are not to be ignored. A good share of French 18C painting is dedicated to the three Watteau. History artists and landscape artists illustrate the 19C and lead to the study of Herbin and F. Delmarle, before plunging into the archaeological crypt.
