Leaving Piana, take the road to Arone (D 824). After 6km, you will see a sign on your right for Capu Rossu. The unmarked road winds its way through the scrubland then, after the sheepfold, a road lined with cairns climbs up to the tower. The Tour de Turghiu stands on a pink porphyritic projection that looks out over the sea from a height of over 300m; there is a magnificent view extending over the coastline as far as Cargèse to the left and, to the right, over the Girolata Gulf. Don't attempt this walk when it's very hot as there is no shade, and don't forget to take water with you.
