Take in the wonders of Provence, from the famous Pont du Gard—the remains of a First Century Roman aqueduct—to the Lavender Museum and numerous charming villages in between.
Your day exploring the Provence region includes:
A visit to the famous Pont du Gard—the vestige of a First Century AD Roman aqueduct. This location, protected by UNESCO, is an amazingly well-preserved monument that will take your breath away.
A stop at les Baux de Provence, a village located on a rock more than 800 feet (245 m) high. You'll have time to explore the historical centre, the Museum of Santons, the Hôtel des Porcelets, beautiful 16th century houses, the St. Vincent Church, and much more.
Shopping among the antiques stores of Saint Rémy de Provence, and visit the Triumphal Arch and Funeral Monument. The landscapes of this area, including stunning olive trees, may even look familiar to Van Gogh enthusiasts!
A drive through the Luberon Regional Park, a region full of charm, and known for its beautiful countryside and picturesque hill-top villages. This is also the location where British writer Peter Mayle wrote A Year in Provence.
Stops in the charming villages of Roussillon, famous for its red and yellow ochre cliffs, and Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in all of France and made completely of dry stone.
A visit the Lavender Museum. Lavender is the flower symbol of Provence. During July and August, you can watch the distillation process that occurs during harvest.
