Saint-Rémy and Les Baux
Experience the vibrant colours and rustic charm that seduced Van Gogh. You'll visit Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where Van Gogh checked himself into a sanatorium after cutting off his ear. Visit the Roman ruins nestled among the olive groves before continuing to the fortified village of Les Baux. Perched upon a rocky outcrop, Les Baux promises panoramic views over a patchwork of olive groves and vineyards.
Arles
Complete your day with a walking tour of Arles, a city whose tree-lined walks, rustic buildings, and easy way of life inspired so many impressionist masters. It was here that Van Gogh painted his Sunflowers masterpieces. You'll also have time to pick your way through the ruins of the Roman amphitheatre before returning to Avignon.
