Château des Baux-de-Provence Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The vestiges of the Château des Baux, demolished in 1632 by order of Richelieu, include the ruins of the citadel, three towers (Sarrasine, des Bannes and Paravelle), the castle chapel (12C-16C) and the keep, with a splendid panorama. You can get there via the History Museum, which traces the glorious past of the site with the help of models. Its other points of interest are a monument dedicated to the poet Charloun-Rieu, Quiqueran Hospital (16C) and St Blaise Chapel where there is a slide show on "Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne in Provence".

    molto bello e interessante rende l'dea di un castello medievale seppur, ormai, rimangano solo alcune rovine.

    Le plateau qui prolonge le chateau offre un superbe panorama sur la camargue jusqu'à l'étang de Berre. Sa forme en angle donne l'impression d'ètre sur l'étrave d'un bateau géant. L'espace expose des machines de sièges médiévales parfaitement opérationelles, catapultes, trébuchets, béliers dont la puissance impressionante dépasse ce qu'on imagine naturellement.
