Ziem was not from Martigues but he fell in love with the place and from then on tirelessly painted the Étang de Berre in a style that foreshadowed Impressionism. As well as seeing his works, you can gain an insight into the Provençal painters, including Guigou and Monticelli. Works by Dufy, Rodin, Camille Claudel and Derain also feature.
