Cuisine modern

Menu 24 € (dinner) - Carte 37/46 €

In the centre of Saignon, this is the 21C version of a little village café! The kitchen is the preserve of a British chef, who offers a short menu inspired by what is available at the market. Dishes include: pea soup with crayfish, smoked haddock chowder, and red berry crumble. Accompanied by wines from the region.

      Pros

The carte is short, and this is what we look for, because it usually indicates freshness and food fait maison. Here we enjoyed fresh garden produce on the little terrace -- perfect for a light lunch. We will also happily return for dinner. Andrew previously ran the the gastronomic restaurant Le Petit Cave, 40 meters down the street, and the gastronomic influence shows even at this new cafe.

      Cons

None, it was precisely what we were looking for.

      Pros
