The rugged coastline of the Desert des Agriates runs between St Florent and the mouth of the Ostriconi River and its highest peak is the Cima d'Ifana (alt. 478m). The time when the Agriates were a lush green Garden of Eden seems a long way off now. Abandoned, scorched by the sun and burnt by fires, it has become a mineral desert which is transformed into a magnificent carpet of flowers in the springtime. Hiking through the fragrant scrubland, you are never far from the coast, where you can admire superb creeks and long beaches.
