The Vizzavona Forest, which extends from Mt d'Oro (2 389m) to the Col de Palmente, is one of the most beautiful forests in Corsica: 43km of pathways and forest roads wind through the European Black Pines and beeches. A mid-point stopover on the GR 20, this forest is well-known among hikers. The trout in its rivers attract fishermen; the skiable terrain of Muratello (1 500m-2 000m altitude) is popular with winter sports enthusiasts; and the slopes of Mt d'Oro (2 389m altitude) are a real draw for climbers.
