This little region of olive and chestnut covered hillsides merges into a fertile coastal plain where young vines, citrus fruit trees and cereal crops flourish. Loreto di Casinca offers a superb view over the perched villages of La Casinca and, in the distance, over the eastern plain, the Étang de Biguglia, Bastia and the sea. Vescovato, the largest town in the area, overlooks the plain and is a place of political and historical importance.
