Upon leaving the Bergeries de Grotelle, follow the path southward as it climbs up the glacial valley of the Restonica River. Walk along the moraine until you get to a vast grassy basin, at an altitude of around 1 500m. Take the path that goes up the left bank of the stream until you reach the foot of the mountainous rampart surrounding the Lac de Melo, which is overlooked by steep slopes that exceed 2 000m (Punta Capitello and the crest of Lombarduccio). You can go up as far as the Lac de Capitello, one of the island's finest mountain sites set within a cirque of peaks that rise up to a height of over 2 000m.
