The sites of Paeke, Hikokua or Kamuhiei are all testament to the historical treasures of Nuku Hiva. Countless petroglyphs, vast paepae (ceremonial stone platforms), and impressive tiki (anthropomorphous figures) carved out of stone take visitors back to life on the island before the arrival of Europeans.
