The most splendid of the many archaeological sites of Hiva Oa is without doubt the site of Iipona, with its majestic tiki standing imposingly in the midst of the lush vegetation. Be sure also to visit Punaei and its tiki with the mysterious smile, Tehueto with its petroglyphs, and the enormous site of Upeke.
