This pilgrimage centre consecrated to the Virgin is one of the oldest in Bavaria and attracts more than 700,000 people to the town each year. A statue of the Virgin Mary is on display in a silver niche on the altar of the Holy Chape. In the Late Gothic Parish Curch, two fine pieces in the Treasury can be seen: an ivory Crucifix dating from 1580 and a small golden horse (c 1400).
