This Cistercian abbey is the oldest monastery in the Baden region. The royal chapel, founded in 1288, was initially a burial place before becoming a dynastic memorial. Its neo-Gothic façade and skylight are 19C works of art. Within the architecturally austere church, the single nave is dominated by a ribbed vault. Notice the fresco (1330) on the south wall.
