This spa establishment dates back to 1824 and its neo-Classical charm continues to enchant visitors. Slender white Corinthian columns flank the doorway which leads into a glittering world of gaming rooms, ballrooms and concert halls. The casino occupies the right wing. In 1855, four gaming rooms were built in a style reminiscent of the reception halls of French castles. Performances by well-known actors used to be put on in the Red Room for the exclusive benefit of Europe's high society.
