The church chancel contains various tombs of the Margraves of Baden, ranging from the 14C to the 18C, in particular the magnificent Tomb of Ludwig the Turk (1753), contrasting with the remarkable sandstone crucifix in the choir. This 1467 masterpiece by Niclaus Gerhaert von Leyden is considered to be one of the outstanding examples of sculpture from the late Middle Ages thanks to the detailed anatomy of the body that still fascinates to this day.
