The look-out tower of Blauen offers a remarkable panorama of the Rhine plain. At a height of 1 165m, this peak of the southern Black Forest provides a sweeping view that takes in the Vosges to the west, the bare summit of Belchen to the north-east and on a clear day, the Alps in the south, while down below the two parallel ribbons of the Rhine and the Grand Canal of Alsace are a sight to behold.
