This palace, Bamberg's largest, comprises four main blocks: two main blocks in the Renaissance style and two Baroque wings on he Domplatz. On the first floor, works of German masters are on view. The imperial apartments on the second floor are among the finest in the Residence with their Baroque furniture. The Emperor's Hall is outstanding for its allegorical frescoes.From the rose garden there is a fine view of the former Benedictine abbey of St. Michael.
