This immense brick building surrounded by high walls extends for the length of a block of houses. It was built from 1886-91 by the architect Franz Schwechten and was once a brewery, producing its last bottle of beer in 1967. The perfectly preserved complex comprises several different workshops decorated with arches and small turrets. Now home to restaurants, concert halls, a cinema, and even a supermarket, the building has lost none of its industrial character. A real success.
