This collection, belonging to the Parisian art dealer, Heinz Berggruen and loaned to Berlin until 2016, is renowned for its works by Picasso (more than 70 pieces), hence the name Picasso und seine Zeit (Picasso and his Time). The artist’s work includes paintings, sculptures, drawings and gouaches. There are also works by Cézanne, Van Gogh, Matisse, Braque, Laurens, Giacometti, as well as African art. The second floor is almost entirely dedicated to Paul Klee, of whom Berggruen was a particular fan.
