This building made of glass and steel (1968) by Mies Van der Rohe houses paintings and sculptures from the early 20C to the 1960s. The collection includes precursors of the German Expressionist movement, with works by the Brücke school. Cubism is also well represented with exhibits by Pablo Picasso and Fernard Léger. Also worthy of note are the Bauhaus paintings, Surrealist art (Max Ernst) and works from the 1950s and 1960s (Yves Klein, Barnett Newman and Mark Rothko).
