Old Library : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum
Nicknamed the "Kommode" (chest of drawers) because of its curved façade, the Baroque-style Alte Bibliothek (old library) was built in 1780. It is without a doubt the most interesting building on this square . Occupying the location once planned for the Science Academy designed by Georg Christian Unger, the building stands alongside the Old Palace ( Altes Palais) and is now home to the Humboldt University.
