Housed in three large rooms, the Collection of Classical Antiquities in the Pergamonmuseum features some remarkable fragments from Greek and Roman buildings. The most famous of these are the imposing Altar of Pergamon, a masterpiece of Hellenistic art (2C BC) and the finely worked Market Gate of Miletus (120 AD). Also worthy of note are the masterpieces in the Hellenistic architecture and Greco-Roman Antiquities rooms.
