The Philharmonic Concert Hall was the first building designed by Hans Scharoun for the Kulturforum between 1960 and 1963 (according to plans drawn up in 1956). It is one of the symbols of the Kulturforum and is home to the renowned Berlin Philharmonic orchestra, which has been conducted by famous names such as Hans von Bülow and Herbert von Karajan (1955-89).
