This Baroque edifice, without doubt the most beautiful in Berlin, was built between 1688 and 1730 by the great architects Jean de Bodt, Martin Grünberg and Johann Arnold Nering. In the inner courtyard, note the 22 mascarons of dying warriors sculpted by Andreas Schlüter. The building now houses the German Historical Museum.
