Today renowned for its beer (Beck’s) and once popularised by the tales of the Grimm brothers, Bremen, the city of cotton and coffee, is an industrial port which has managed to retain a pleasant appearance with its varied architectural styles (Renaissance, Art Nouveau, Art Deco). The banks of the River Weser are ideal for a stroll, and the old fishermen’s quarter, the Schnoor, with its bistros, studios and restaurants, has a bustling atmosphere. Museum im Roseliushaus and Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum
