This museum is housed in several buildings. The main building is devoted to Bremen housing, silverware, cars and shipyards, including exhibits relating to the history of the Hanseatic city (religious objects, sculptures, everyday items...). An annex houses the prehistoric collection, and a reconstructed hall house dating from 1586. The Riensberg house, another annex, displays collections covering bourgeois life style.
