Chiemsee : Michelin's recommendations

Known as the «Bavarian Sea», the Chiemsee is the largest of the province's lakes, with a surface area of 82km2. Two island are worth a visit, the Herreninsel with a replica of the chateau of Versailles, and the Fraueninsel with its abbey. Summer resorts popular with water sports enthusiasts line the lake's shore, in particular Prien, the busiest, and Seebruck.
