Chorin Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The splendid ruins of Chorin abbey stand in a setting of greenery on the banks of the Amtsee. As early as 1825, the architect Karl-Friedrich Schinkel drew the attention of the King of Prussia to the historical interest of the ruins and persuaded him to take steps to save the site. Now partially restored, the abbey is one of the finest examples of a brick building in northern Germany. This peaceful site hosts a music festival during the summer.
