The west chancel with three sections, inspired by that of Aix-la-Chapelle, is the oldest part of this cathedral (10C). The church, which is built over an Ottonian crypt, is a Gothic hall, and dates from the 13C. Don't miss the Golden Virgin, a masterpiece dating from 980 which is said to be the oldest statue in the West. Also see the cathedral's treasury and its four processional crosses (10 -11C).
