Füssen : Michelin's recommendations

Füssen stands at the gateway to the Tyrol, near the castles of Louis II of Bavaria and on the German route to the Alps. It is here that the turbulent Lech bursts out of the mountains through a narrow ravine. Lovely lakes, also close at hand, are very popular for bathing and water sports. The old town is encircled by the remains of its fortified walls and watchtowers, over which towers the castle. A small town simply bursting with activity.
