Görlitz : Michelin's recommendations
Görlitz was founded in the mid-13C on the shores of the River Neisse, which since 1945 has formed the border between Germany and Poland. It was annexed to Bohemia in the 14C. During the 15C and 16C, the city became prosperous thanks to its thriving sheet manufacturing business and the dyeing pastel it produced. During the 19C an optical industry developed, together with mechanical construction factories.
