Goslar : Michelin's recommendations

Goslar, a popular destination in Germany for a weekend break, is a former imperial city which was once part of the Hanseatic League. The city boasts a fine collection of half-timbered houses and interesting monuments. Both the old town and the mine at Rammelsberg have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1992. Goslar lies on the northwestern edge of the Harz massif and makes a perfect base for exploring these mountains.
