Göttingen : Michelin's recommendations

Göttingen is one of Germany's towns with the longest -standing university tradition: student life still contributes to the town's lively and often extremely noisy ambiance. The old town contains many attractive and interesting buildings. Since the last war, Göttingen has been the headquarters for the Max Planck Society, a group of some fifty research institutes throughout Germany. Max Planck himself (1858-1947), who discovered the quantum theory in 1900, is buried here.
