The town hall, built in the 14C and 15C, has a typical medieval layout. Before the façade stands the Goosegirl fountain, focal point of student processions when exams are over. At the southwest corner of the Markt, the view encompasses four churches: St Alban's country-style dome to the east; St Michael's to the south; the octagonal towers of St John's to the west, and the splendid bell-tower (72m) of St James' to the north.
