This museum (Altonaer Museum in Hamburg - Norddeutsches Landesm) depicts daily life and traditional activities in the lower valley of the Elba and Schleswig-Holstein. Aside from its craft department and art gallery, there is an admirable collection of figureheads from the 18C and 19C, and models relating to fishing and sailing. The Altonaer Balkon, a terrace south of Altona town hall, boasts superb views of the Köhlbrandbrücke and the confluent of the two arms of the Elba.
