Hamelin Travel guide
Hamelin : Michelin's recommendations
Hameln, on the banks of the Weser, boasts a fine collection of beautiful old houses from the Weser Renaissance (late 16C/early 17C). Typical of the architectural style here are the gable ornamentation, the delicately carved stone bands encircling the buildings, the forward-jutting pavilions treated as a reduced version of the principal façade, and the lucarnes with decorative gables emerging at the base of the roof.
