Part of the new town hall (Rathaus) is open to the public. On the ground floor, admire giant models depicting the town from the 16C to the present day; the model of Hanover after the bombing of the Second World War is particularly striking. A unique lift which follows the curve of the dome takes visitors to the top of the building for a good view of the city.
