Herrnhut : Michelin's recommendations

This town is world-famous because of the Evangelical brotherhood of the same name. The religious community, founded in Moravia in 1457, was persecuted for its Protestant beliefs. It found refuge here in 1722, and built up a town in the compact «Herrnhuter Baroque» style, whose fullest expression is found in the municipal building, the castle and the way the streets are aligned. A museum documents the educational work carried out by the brethren.
