This region, resembling a «Green Venice,» criss-crossed by a network of more than 300 streams, was once a forested wetland. It also owes its uniqueness to its Swabian minority, highly attached to their traditions and language. The region is largely agricultural and specializes in the production of cucumbers and horseradish.
