This fortified gate, with its enormous twin towers, was built between 1469 and 1478, before the city wall was constructed. More than a simple defensive structure, this prestigious building now houses the town museum. If you look at the tower from the town side, you will see that it is richly decorated with three floors of arches and ornamental friezes made out of ceramics.
