The art of beer brewing is a centuries-old tradition in Munich. The Reinheitsgebot, a law prescribing what can go into a Bavarian brew kettle (hops, water, malted barley) and what cannot (anything else) dates back to 1517. Join a behind-the-scenes tour of the Paulaner brewery for fascinating insights, a beer tasting and some hearty snacks.
Ever since the seventeenth century when the monks of the Paulaner order started brewing beer and giving it away to the poor, this brewery has been popular with the locals. Today, Paulaner is one of Germany's best-known brands of beer with a range of 14 different varieties from lager to wheat beer to ale.
A master brewer will take you around all the areas of the brew house explaining the beer-making process along the way. Of course you won't go home without sampling some of Bavaria's best-loved drink as well as some traditional snacks to go with it.
